Rabbit Semiconductor(R), Inc. Ships the New Rabbit(R) 4000 Microprocessor
DAVIS, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—March 30, 2006—
Rabbit Semiconductor, Inc. is proud to announce the
availability of the Rabbit 4000 microprocessor. The Rabbit 4000 is the
newest addition to the legendary Rabbit line of microprocessors, which
offers new and improved features from integrated Ethernet to hardware
DMA. These new features make the Rabbit 4000 a clear choice for
today's demanding embedded applications of connectivity and control.
Building upon the highly successful Rabbit 3000 microprocessor,
the Rabbit 4000 is available in two RoHS compliant packages, 128-pin
LQFP and 128-pin TFBGA configurations. The new features include
integrated 10Base-T Ethernet, hardware DMA, 16-bit memory device
support, and page-mode memory device support. Features also include
hardware security features, hardware breakpoints, variable-phase PWM,
and up to 40 GPIO with up to 4 levels of alternate pin functions. More
than 500 new instructions were added to increase the processing speed
and efficiency.
Programming the Rabbit 4000 microprocessor is simple with the
industry-proven Dynamic C(R) software development system. Our
successful integration of hardware and software substantially reduces
development time and cost. In addition, the Rabbit 4000 microprocessor
is programmable in-circuit without costly in-circuit emulators, using
a simple programming cable provided with the Rabbit 4000 development
kits. Integrated features of the Rabbit 4000 allow embedded engineers
to develop smaller designs, enabling for diverse implementation.
The Rabbit 4000 will be available beginning April 4th, 2006. The
first development platform to use the Rabbit 4000 capabilities will be
on the RabbitCore RCM4100 Development Kit ($259 Qty1). The Rabbit 4000
is competitively priced below $9 in volume. For more information
